Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the solar potential of three different cities in TOGO (Lomé, Atakpamé and Mango) in order to determine the empirical relationships allowing us to calculate the monthly global sunshine from the relative humidity RH, the mean temperature T, and monthly average values of the non-atmospheric sunlight H0 according to appropriate models. The models that have been chosen are those for which the availability of data necessary for their validation poses no difficulty. On the basis of the Mean Absolute Errors (MAE), the Mean Bias Error (MBE) and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) we were able to identify for each city the appropriate model. The advantage of this work is to present, through the determination of the MAE, MBE and RMSE parameters, the importance of the appropriate model in order to determine the photovoltaic potential estimation of a city.

Abstract: After the 1970s, the reorganization of the markets at the global level has been overwhelmed by the financial logic of investment in a setting characterized by expansion of institutional investors. Within this framework, the private equity funds’ investment strategies turn out to focus on short-term profits. Besides, these funds have enhanced the expansion of new business models where the process of strategic disinvestment is part of the financial management. Considering this background, this paper addresses that the evolution of the current global business environment in the energy sector has been attached to the new financial and business dynamics where private-equity funds are relevant to apprehend the recent investment and disinvestment trends in renewables.

Abstract: This paper investigates dynamics of the natural gas industry and economic growth in Mozambique for the period of 1999 to 2015. Times series data is collected from Index Mundi, produced by World Bank and it includes export and labor. This study employs Error Correction model. Results report that the natural gas industry, export, and labor are positively cointegrated with economic growth, and they have a long-run relationship. In a short-run term, results revealed that the natural gas industry has a positive effect and it is significant to influence economic growth in Mozambique. However, on the other hand, export and labor contribution to economic growth is small. The study recommends that government should implement a growth policy for the natural gas industry because it would stimulate economic growth. In Mozambique, the natural gas industry will experience foremost dynamics with the production of natural gas in Rovuma Basin scheduled to start by 2022, and it will play a great role to promote the economic growth in the upcoming future.
